With Christmas behind us and the January blues hitting us hard, it’s never too early to start dreaming of those sun-kissed sandy beaches, crisp mountain air and lovely Cities full of culture. With the January sales still packing on the love on every website possible – it isn’t too late to grab a bargain. Whether you’re looking for that perfect place to surprise your family or that spontaneous trip to somewhere in Europe – hopefully these 3 little tips will help make your holiday planning as stress-free as possible.

It’s easy to sign up too, either by e-mail or with Facebook, they have been featured on Condé Nast Traveller, London Evening Standard and The Sunday Times and the booking process is incredibly simple. So, why else should you check out Secret Escapes?

Keep it Local – Cornwall
One of the most beautiful places in the UK is Cornwall. So, why do you need to go abroad? Gentle sea breezes, beautiful sandy beaches surrounded by the beautiful English Riviera and full of tiny little eateries famous for their seafood. Cornwall has a charm like no other. With their sunning beaches, rugged cliffs, long yet wonderful walks, wonderful history, cute seaside towns and spectacular restaurants – is it any wonder why Cornwall is one of the most popular UK holiday destinations? Probably not.
South Cornwall: The South coast of Cornwall is full of stunning views, wonderful beaches, fishing and harbour villages, exotic gardens and beautiful lush green land.

Hotels or Airbnb?
Now let’s face it – who doesn’t love an absolute bargain? Hotels scream holiday and Airbnb screams home comforts. Airbnb is on the rise and now travellers have much more variation than ever before. So what’s what?
Hotels are luxury. You don’t just pay for the location or the comfort – you pay for the service. The check-in, the on-site car parking, the bar, the housekeeping and the toiletries. With Airbnb, that’s not always an option. Airbnb however, offers you variation. You can put in your area of preference, choose your budget, what amenities you want and hey-presto, you found yourself ‘The One’. That one could be a tree house in Costa Rica or an old bus in the middle of the desert somewhere.
Airbnb work particularly well for groups travelling together, couples and even a solo traveller. You have choice too – choose a room only, but the owner might be in the shower when you want it or the entire place and have it to yourself but it might be a tad pricier. The options really are endless.
